\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>We kicked off this month celebrating Star Wars day by watching A New Hope<\/a> before I flew off to Seattle for ARVO<\/a>. I mistakenly drove to the airport without my laptop, but Melody came to my rescue and delivered it to me before boarding. The conference was busy as usual, with 18 posters this year that had me scuttling around the convention center to snap photos with trainees, while my department sent our own photographer for my award<\/a> for our website<\/a>. I took a half-afternoon off to relax and visit Chihuly\u2019s Garden & Glass<\/a> and enjoy a dark chocolate mocha at Starbucks Reserve Roastery<\/a>. My meals were otherwise diverse, excellent, and mostly work-related, with few ventures on my own to compare XLBs from Dough Zone<\/a> vs. Ding Tai Fung<\/a>, sushi from Sushi Kashiba<\/a> vs. Shiro\u2019s Sushi<\/a>, and noodles from Biang Biang Noodles<\/a> vs. MKT<\/a>. I returned home to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Mother\u2019s Day by camping in our backyard, watching the Empire Strikes Back<\/a>, and visiting Foodieland<\/a> at Cal Expo where we joined Emmeline to share grilled calamari<\/a>, curry shrimp wrap<\/a>, corndog<\/a>, pho soup dumplings<\/a>, pork bao buns<\/a>, filipino shortbreak cookies<\/a>, grilled oysters<\/a>, sushi tacos<\/a>, ube mochi<\/a>, mango-passionfruit tea<\/a>, buttered lobster roll<\/a>, hand rolls<\/a>, sugarcane juice<\/a>, mochi skewers<\/a>, freeze dried candy<\/a>, and Hawaiian honey cones<\/a>. With bellies full, we embarked together on Assassin’s Creed Mirage<\/a>. This newest iteration of the franchise was a return to form, focusing on stealth over RPG elements, although playing on the PS5 took some getting used to. We completed the original Star Wars trilogy this evening watching Return of the Jedi<\/a> in our backyard. With a new Chromecast 4K<\/a>, mosquito repellent<\/a>, and lots of blankets, we kicked back to enjoy our last few weeks of spring weather.<\/p>\n\n\n
