To avoid rush hour traffic, I asked them to put me up at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jdvhotels.com\/hotels\/california\/san-francisco\/hotel-kabuki\">hotel<\/a>, which was conveniently located at the <a href=\"https:\/\/japancentersf.com\/\">Japan Center<\/a> and gave me a chance for some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daisojapan.com\/\">Daiso<\/a> shopping and noodle slurping at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuishinborestaurant.com\/\">Kui Shin Bo<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/hinodeyaramen.com\/\">Hinodeya<\/a>, in addition to the hosts&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.padrecitosf.com\/\">dinner<\/a>. I spent the rest of the weekend with family, trying out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fishswildislandgrill.com\/\">Fish&#8217;s Wild Island Grill<\/a>, petting farm animals at <a href=\"http:\/\/impossibleacres.org\/\">Grandpa&#8217;s Barn<\/a>, and introducing Westley to his first movie &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0096283\/\">My Neighbor Totoro<\/a>. Despite occasional scares from the makkurokurosuke and big totoro, he was glued to the screen. With my parents in town for a 3-week visit, I kept myself busy with grant applications, fellowship interviews, and <a href=\"https:\/\/myhs.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu\/web\/paul-hom-asian-clinic\">Paul Hom<\/a>, while Melody attended several meetings. I finally succeeded in changing our fellowship lunch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luccarestaurant.com\/\">location<\/a>, but the back-to-back weekend commitments left me little time to spend with my folks, with only a few opportunities to dine out for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/boilingave\">hot pot<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delilahsmarket.com\/\">poke<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tgtacos.com\/\">pozole<\/a>.
